Hello baking enthusiasts! Are you looking for a weekend treat that will satisfy your sweet tooth and fill your home with the warm aroma of cinnamon? Look no further! Today, I’m sharing the recipe for the best cinnamon rolls ever, guaranteed to make your weekend even more delightful.

Let’s get started with the ingredients:

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 package active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk (about 110°F)
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Here’s how to create these mouthwatering cinnamon rolls:

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast. Pour in the warm milk and mix until a soft dough forms.
  2. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 5-10 minutes, until it becomes smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  3. While the dough is rising, prepare the filling. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and cinnamon.
  4. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a large rectangle. Spread the melted butter over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border on all sides. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the butter.
  5. Starting from the long side, roll up the dough into a tight log. Cut the log into 12 equal pieces using a sharp knife or a pastry cutter.
  6. Place the cinnamon rolls in a 9×13-inch baking dish, leaving some space between them. Cover the dish with a clean towel and let the rolls rise for another 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat your oven to 375°F. In a small bowl, whisk together an egg and a tablespoon of milk. Gently brush the egg wash over the top of the cinnamon rolls.
  8. Bake the cinnamon rolls for 20-25 minutes, or until they are golden brown and the centers are cooked through. Let the rolls cool for a few minutes before serving.
  9. To make the icing, mix together 1 cup powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons milk, and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract. Drizzle the icing over the warm cinnamon rolls and enjoy!

These cinnamon rolls are perfect for a weekend breakfast or brunch, but they also make a great treat any time of the day. You can even make a batch ahead of time and freeze them for later. Just reheat them in the oven or microwave when you’re ready to indulge.
